Blog Post and Reading Response *8

I'm really excited about making the rest of our documentary. Hopefully we'll get all footage we need by tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to try and film the intro using my mom's amazing record player and some jazz records. I hope it works out. And I think it'd be great if we could find some old photos of the KBEM station. When it was starting or just at another period in its time.
This week's reading was "A Gift of Love" by Martin Luther King Jr. This was in recognition of Black History Month, was it not? I liked this reading. It's nice to hear that people can learn to change and stand up for what they need, but without physical harm. It's harder to try to make something happen with words only, but this is a more powerful way of saying what needs to be said than with violence. To me, a march shows a lot. Shows that you are really standing up for something, whatever it may be. "They decided to rise above the cruelties of those slums and to work and march, peacefully, for human dignity."
